Welcome to the Dante Arms

a warm welcome to all eating and staying in Middleham

Watch the horses follow Dante’s route each morning

The Dante Arms is one of Middleham’s oldest pubs, originally The Black Swan it changed its name 8 years ago and is now named after the 1945 Derby winner Dante in 1945. Dante was trained in Middleham there are 13 stables in Middleham and Dante was trained in a yard just behind the pub, there is now a Dante Festival held at York in May.

The Dante is situated in the Market Place with five B & B rooms, Room 1 and 2 overlook the market place and you can enjoy watching the horses on their way to the gallops every morning. Rooms 3,4 & 5 are at the rear of the pub.

The Dante has the only Beer Garden in Middleham it is a wonderful sun trap catching the sun from morning until mid afternoon. The Castle can be accessed from the top of the garden.

Muddy Boots and well behaved dogs are welcome in pub and if they are staying in the rooms they have a sausage for breakfast.

Emma and Les look forward to welcoming you soon.
